LCS-485 converts RS232 signals to a differential transceiver, RS485, for communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It contains dual differential line drivers and a dual differential line receiver, ideal for half-duplex, full duplex, data monitor and multipoint applications. With +/-15kV ESD protection, the LCS-485 is ideal for long distance differential signal transmission. Depending on the number of signal wires, it can operate under Four Wire Full Duplex or Two Wire Half Duplex mode.
Features
◆ 1. Point-to-Point: Allows two devices to communicate with each other with differential signals for long-distance applications.
◆ 2. Multipoint: Up to 32 devices can exchange information using the same signal lines with one device as a Master under user-defined protocol.
◆ 3.Simplex/Transmit, Receive Only: Uses only two signal lines for transmission, Similar to Multipoint with one talk-only Master device and all other devices are listen-only.
◆ 4.Monitor: Listens to the signals going back and forth between two RS-422 units or RS-485 equipment.
